Miguel Torres Chile was founded in 1979 by the Torres family of Spain who has produced wine in Spain for over 140 years and has been owners of vineyards for 300 years. Miguel Torres was the first foreign winery to establish itself in Chile. The Miguel Torres Chile winery encompasses more than 350 hectares of vineyards planted in five different properties each with unique climatic characteristics. This enables the winery to cultivate distinct varieties and to allow their intense expressions to develop. Miguel Torres is recognized for introducing new technologies like stainless steel fermentation and oak barrel ageing in French casks to Chile which has contributed to the growth of Chilean wines over the past 30 years.
